The name Chen usually means morning in Chinese, but mine is a little different—it means dust or ashes. Ashes are tiny and can easily be missed, yet the whole universe is filled with them. They are the start and the end of life. It’s fascinating. If you pronounce my full name in Shanghainese, it sounds like Wu Zen, which means no dust, spotless. My name has a different meaning when combined with my family name. You can choose whichever you prefer. Just like my approach to design, my audience is always welcomed to interpret it in their own way.
